2011 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year
A proud Marine Corps wife of 14 years, she has experience in news reporting, social media management, and content marketing. In 2011, she was named as Armed Forces Insurance’s Military Spouse of the Year for her volunteer work and advocacy within the military community. Because of her volunteerism, the 35th Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James Amos, awarded her with a Certificate of Commendation.
Throughout her role as a military wife, she has watched as the face of the spouse community has evolved. There is no longer one cookie cutter mold of what a military spouse should look like and Bianca is proud to partner with the organizations strengthening the community’s will to pursue their dreams.
Prior to her freelance writing career, Bianca was the Deputy Director of Membership for Blue Star Families and former Managing Editor of The Onslow Times. She is media trained and has appeared in interviews for television, radio, and print to include Fox News, CNN, and Oprah.
Currently, Bianca resides in Jacksonville, NC with her husband and three children. She is a member of the Military Reporters & Editors Association and serves as an advisor for The MilSpo Project.
2013 New Jersey National Guard Spouse of the Year
Angela Caban is an Army National Guard spouse, freelance writer, published author and branding expert. Her husband was one of the many soldiers impacted by the unprecedented activation of the National Guard in 2008. In 2010 she founded the Homefront United Network, a military spouse and family support blog created to assist spouses who do not live near an installation, but also focusing on bridging the gap between National Guard, Reserve and Active Duty spouses. In 2013, she was named the New Jersey National Guard Spouse of the Year by Military Spouse Magazine and Armed Forces Insurance.
As a branding and digital influencer, she has worked with clients such as; USAA, A&E, Lifetime Network and PBS. She currently sits on the Advisory Board for The Milspo Project and was named a top Digital Influencer by USAA. Currently, she is one of the Community Managers for the USAA Member Community.
She has an extensive background in Human Resources and Communications, with her Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Human Resources. Angela resides in the beautiful Garden State of New Jersey with her husband of 11 years and two children.
Rheanna is an Air National Guard spouse living in the Washington D.C. Metro Area. She is the author of Cammo Style Love, a Military and Lifestyle blog that was recently featured in the 2016 ‘In Defense’ issue of USA Today; and National Guard Families, a Facebook page for National Guard, Reserve and remotely stationed military families. Rheanna is an advocate and Influenster, constantly working on bringing the stories of National Guard and Reserve families to a broader audience. She is a mother, volunteer, lover of all things Vintage, book nerd and Dr. Pepper addict.
